Thermal Sleeve Bellows

A thermal sleeve bellows is fitted with an internal sleeve positioned specifically to reduce direct heat transfer from high-temperature flow to the bellows convolutions themselves — related to a lined bellows, but focused on temperature rather than erosion.

How it works

By standing off the hottest part of the flow from the convolutions, the sleeve keeps the bellows material within its intended temperature range even when the process fluid itself runs hotter than the bellows would otherwise tolerate well.

  • Internal sleeve reduces direct heat transfer to the bellows
  • Distinct from a liner, which focuses on erosion protection
  • Extends bellows service life in high-temperature process lines
  • Sleeve is engineered for its own thermal growth within the joint
