High-Pressure Bellows (Thick-Wall)

A high-pressure bellows is built with thicker-wall material, additional plies, or reinforcing rings — often some combination of all three — specifically to hold a higher pressure rating than a standard-duty bellows of the same diameter.

How it works

Thicker walls resist pressure better but flex less easily, so high-pressure designs are a deliberate trade-off, engineered and tested (including squirm and rupture testing) to confirm the joint holds its rated pressure without losing the flexibility the application actually needs.

  • Thicker-wall or multi-ply construction for elevated pressure ratings
  • Often paired with reinforcing rings at the convolution root
  • Verified with destructive rupture and squirm testing before shipment
  • Real Uma Bellows units on file rated at 24, 120, and 160 kg/cm²
