Expansion Bellows with Liners

A lined expansion bellows has a smooth internal sleeve fitted just inside the convolutions, so the flowing media passes over the liner rather than directly over the flexible bellows material.

How it works

Convolutions are inherently more exposed to erosion and turbulence than a smooth pipe wall would be; a liner protects them from direct high-velocity or abrasive flow, extending the bellows' service life without changing its flexibility.

  • Internal liner shields convolutions from direct flow contact
  • Reduces erosion in high-velocity or particulate-laden service
  • Does not add stiffness — the bellows still flexes normally
  • Liner design accounts for its own thermal expansion within the joint
